Welcome to the Child and Family Team Handbook Website

The Child and Family Team Handbook serves several important purposes:

1.     To describe specific best practice expectations for those individuals responsible for leading Child and Family Teams (CFT);

2.     To provide a ready resource for all CFT members to advance learning and support promotion of best practices in each CFT meeting;

3.     To compile standards of care for Child and Family Teams into a central document that will eliminate confusion, promote accountability, and facilitate a common understanding and application of best practices among all child-serving agencies and organizations;

4.     To educate program and policy leaders about best practices employed by Child and Family Teams so that policies and procedures these leaders adopt can actively support the delivery of these practices within each agency and organization, and across agencies;

5.     To provide consistent information that serves as the content for all CFT training and implementation assistance materials related to CFTs in Durham SOC;

6.     To describe the history and structure of DSOC in order to clarify how each component of this system is designed to directly support the success of the community’s Child and

7.     Family Teams, and to illustrate how the Durham community has invested in the future of its children and families.
